Roberta V. McKenna
Mrs. Roberta V. (Fossaty) McKenna, age 96, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at Complete Care at Glendale, in Naugatuck. She was the devoted wife of the late James E. McKenna, Sr.
Born on June 12, 1929, in Waterbury, Roberta was the daughter of the late Annibale "Joseph" and Katherine (Tocchio) Fossaty. She was a graduate of Crosby High School and a graduate of the Comptometer School of Waterbury, Class of 1947. She worked in the Cost Department for Waterbury Manufacturing for several years until she and Jim began their family.
Affectionately known to most as "Bobbie," she was a kind, caring, and ever-loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Happily married to Jim, her generous, kind-hearted love of her life, for nearly 69 years until his passing in 2019, Bobbie was deeply devoted to her family. In recent years, she found her greatest joy in being "GG" to her cherished great-grandchildren, Aedan and Olivia.
Bobbie enjoyed reading, painting, and spending time with her needlepoint and cross-stitch projects. She treasured every moment shared with her growing family, especially holidays, birthdays, picnics, and other gatherings. An exceptional cook and baker, she delighted her family with her delicious cakes, pies, and cheesecakes-treats that will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.
Bobbie is survived by her two sons, James E. McKenna, Jr. and his wife, Florinda of Waterbury and Richard McKenna and his wife, Kathleen of Maine; her two daughters, Rebecca Kenyon and her husband, Thomas of Waterbury and Virginia Seman and her husband, John of Newtown; and her eight grandchildren, James III, Michael and his wife, Julia, Richard, Christopher, Lauren, Erika, John and Megan. She also leaves her great-grandchildren, Aedan and Olivia, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Cynthia Lynn McKenna, and her sister, Alberta "Pinky" DiSalvo, and her husband, Joseph DiSalvo.
Her funeral will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at 9:00am from Maiorano Funeral Home, 95 Willow St., Waterbury, to St. Leo the Great Church for a Mass at 10:30am. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. A calling hour will be held from 9:00-10:00am at the funeral home. To sign the online guestbook or to leave online condolences for the family, please visit
