Ryan Catania Obituary

Ryan Catania
09/11/2025
Thomaston: Ryan Alexander Catania, known to his family and friends as "Ry", passed away at 36 years of age on September 11, 2025. Ryan was born on May 12, 1989, in Farmington, CT, the son of Kimberly {McKee} Catania and the late Stephen Catania. He was the brother of Colby Catania and his wife, Natalie, of Darien, as well as Megan Catania of Thomaston.
In 2016, Ryan graduated from the University of Connecticut School of Engineering, where his passion for problem-solving led him to 10 plus years in the field of Chemical Engineering.
Ryan always enjoyed his family vacations to Cape Cod and his fishing experiences with his dad.
Ryan's love of competitive swimming began at a young age, when his mom enjoyed watching his swim meets. He enjoyed a competitive tennis match with his brother and many deep
conversations with his sister.
In addition to his mother, Kimberly, and his siblings, he is survived by his Maternal Grandmother, Mary G. McKee, his nephew Landon, and many aunts, Uncles, cousins, and
friends. While Ryan left us far too soon, the impact he had will live on in the hearts and minds of all who knew and loved him.
To honor Ryan's memory, friends are invited to call at Hickox Funeral Home, 195 Main Street, Watertown, on Saturday, September 20, from 2 to 4. At the conclusion of calling hours, the family would like to invite anybody who would like to share a special memory about Ryan. All other services are private and at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, a donation in Ryan's name to your local animal shelter would be appreciated.
