Sherri Waldron Obituary

Sherri Loomis Waldron
Sherri "Junior" Loomis Waldron passed unexpectedly Friday afternoon on December 19th, 2025 surrounded by her family and friends. Born in Sharon on August 5th, 1965, the daughter of the late Robert and Helen Pepper Loomis of Litchfield, Sherri and her brothers, Mark, Tim, and Stephen were raised behind the Connecticut Junior Republic on the farm their father ran. Sherri graduated from Litchfield High School in 1983 after lettering in field hockey and being heavily involved in 4-H. Sherri often told stories of life on the farm. She laughed at memories that always involved her brothers tormenting her with a multitude of things; namely Snowy the Horse and her biggest fear, frogs. Sherri continued her education at the University of Connecticut and eventually found herself working for General Electric in Hartford. She then went on to work at the CJR as a counselor.
Sherri was known as the life of any party and quite literally brought light to everyone that she knew. She was a proud member of the Big Brothers Big Sisters organization as she was "Big Sister of the Year" in the '90s. After high school, Sherri traveled to Belgium with the Rotary Club where she went to school and traveled to see Tim in Germany where he was stationed. After attending university for a communications degree, Sherri settled into life with Steve Waldron and welcomed their two children, Luke and Marli. As the Loomis family grew, Sherri made sure to continue family traditions, cooking with her mom, Sunday Family Dinner every week. She was an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 46. In the most recent years, Sherri enjoyed girls' night every Friday with her closest friends; laughing with a glass of sangria in hand. She was finishing her 25th year at Litchfield Hills Nursery and was famously known for her Christmas Tree decorating. What Sherri was best at was being there for her family. She loved deeply, cared endlessly, and was the kindest one out of all of them. Whether she was on the sideline at a soccer or field hockey game, or screaming "Touchdown" as someone walked through the door, Sherri was simply the best there was.
Sherri is survived by her children, Luke and Marli Waldron. Brothers Mark Loomis (Kathy) and Tim Loomis (Andrea). Nieces – Sarah Loomis Akers (Zac), and Riley Loomis O'Connor (Peter). And nephews – Max Loomis (Sarah), Hunter Loomis, and Chase Loomis. Even a great-nephew and nieces, Micah, Raegan, Rowan, and Ryan. Sherri was predeceased by her brother, Stephen "Bones" Loomis.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 30th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Thomas of Villanova Church, 71 North Street, Goshen. Family and friends may call on Monday, December 29th from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Thurston Rowe Funeral Home, 283 Torrington Rd., Litchfield.
