Teresa Tolomeo Obituary
Teresa S. Tolomeo, 91, formerly of Waterbury and Milford, passed from this life on June 21, 2025, in McDonough, GA. She was the daughter of the late Michael and Clara (Della Camera) Tolomeo.
Ms. Tolomeo was a graduate of Wilby High School. She spent 20 years as a Sister of Mercy (Sister Mary Gemma). Teresa's gift was encouraging young minds. She was a kind and compassionate teacher and administrator, mostly in the Waterbury Catholic School system. She adored her students and they, in turn, adored her.
Teresa is survived by her sister, Clare (William) Evon of Georgia, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her siblings, Michael Tolomeo of NY, Nicholas Tolomeo of NJ, Angela Tolomeo of GA, Bernadette Iorio and Diane Palmieri, both of Waterbury.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
