Loving husband, father, grandfather and brother"
Theodore W. Smith Jr., age 78 of Waterbury, passed away peacefully December 3, 2025, at Saint Mary Hospital. He was the loving husband of Rosemary (Luca) Smith.
Ted was born July 10, 1947, in Danbury, a son of the late Theodore W. and Mae Elizabeth (Daniels) Smith Sr. He was a graduate of Southbury High School and earned an Associate's Degree from Post University in business management. Prior to his retirement, Ted worked at Southbury Food Center for almost 30 years, along with BJ's Wholesale and Town Plot Supermarket. Family was first and foremost to Ted, who loved spending time with his children and granddaughter. He passed along many words of wisdom over the years, often mispronounced, and was known for being a jokester, loyal friend and incredibly resilient man. He was an Ancestry enthusiast, a member of both the Sons of the American Revolution and the Mayflower Society. Above all else, Ted was a proud grandfather. He will be greatly missed by those who are blessed to know and love him.
Besides his loving wife of over 56 years, he leaves his son, Theodore W. Smith III, and his wife Ana, of Canton, GA; his daughters, Michele Flowers, and her husband David, of Waterbury, and Jennifer Agosto of Waterbury, a sister, Margaret Wildman, of Southbury, a granddaughter, Viola Marie Flowers, of Waterbury and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Edward Wildman.
Arrangements: Funeral Tuesday, December 9, 2025 at 9 a.m. from Chase Parkway Memorial/Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church to celebrate Mass at 10 a.m. Entombment will follow at Calvary Queen of Peace Mausoleum. Calling hours will be Monday, December 8, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
