Victoria L. Semprini
Loving Mother and Friend
Victoria L. Semprini, age 104, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 25, 2025, at Masonicare Assisted Living in Wallingford, Connecticut. She was the devoted wife of Joseph F. Semprini.
Born in Waterbury, on August 14, 1920, she was the daughter of Vito and Lucia (Santorsa) Becce. She grew up on the family farm with her parents, and her siblings, Agnes, Rose, Toni and Rocco. Victoria was a graduate of Webster Elementary School and Wilby High School, Class of 1938. She met the love of her life, her husband, Joseph, while ice skating on Lakewood Reservoir. They married in 1943. Victoria and Joe raised their four children in their North Main Street home, which was the center of many family gatherings and a stopping place for relatives and friends. She was always ready to put on a pot of coffee.
After raising her family, she worked for the City of Waterbury School District as a secretary and later as a teacher's aide for students with special needs. She enjoyed cooking Italian foods and pastries, and writing poetry centered around her family life. Always positive, she devoted her life to her husband and family. One of her favorite words of advice was, "Do your best and leave the rest". In her retirement, she enjoyed going to the many events of her grandchildren.
Victoria is survived by her daughters, Clorinda Kramer of Lahaina, HI and Victoria Piscatelli and her husband Louis of Niantic, CT, and her son, Lewis Semprini and his wife Nancy of Corvallis, OR. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Kindall Kolins of Los Angeles, CA, Jamie Buden and husband Michael of Lahaina, HI, Julia Semprini of Monterey, CA, Victoria "Tori" Piscatelli of Hoboken, NJ, Daniel Piscatelli and his wife Marguerite, of Hoboken, NJ and Patrick Piscatelli of Philadelphia, PA; as well as her great-granddaughter ,Lily Buden; and many generations of nieces and nephews. In addition to Joseph, her husband of 53 years, Victoria was predeceased by her son, Joseph L. Semprini, and her siblings, Rocco Becce, Agnes Scarpa, Rose Clapps and Antoinette Padula.
Victoria's funeral will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at 8:30a.m. from Maiorano Funeral Home, 95 Willow St., Waterbury, to St. Michael's Church for a Mass at 10:00am. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Watertown.
