Ruby Koschene Obituary

Ruby L. Koschene, PHD, passed away March 6, 2014 at Aspen House in Loveland. She was born on March 25, 1930 in Quinn South Dakota, one of eleven children. The family moved to Casper, Wyoming where she met and married Wilbur (Webb) Koschene. He preceded her in death on May 8, 1995, after 48 years of marriage. They had four children. After the children were born, Ruby pursued her education. She received a masters degree in psychology from the University of Colorado-Boulder and a doctorate in psychology at Colorado State University. She had a private practice in Loveland for thirty years and she co-founded the Namaqua Center (a residential treatment program for children) with Dr. Joye Fuller. A celebration of her life is planned for April, in Loveland. All who wish to attend are asked to send an email to [email protected]; the notice of service date, place and time will be sent out when planning has been completed. In lieu flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to The Namaqua Center in Loveland. She was much loved and will be missed by all of her family and friends.

Ruby was one of the most amazing, intelligent and thoughtful people I have ever had the privilege to know. I remembered things she taught me when working for/with her for my lifetime and carried on in my own parenting. She lives on in her teachings and her great intelligence. May the Blessings Be in your many blessings to others, Dr. Ruby Koschene.

Ruby was an amazing person. Twenty years ago or so we went to see her for her counseling services. Her compassion and understanding really saved us.
