Bobby D Maxwell, 85, of Abilene passed away Friday, February 13, 2015 in Abilene.Funeral services will be held Friday, February 20 at 2 PM at Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 US HWY 277 S. Abilene, TX 79606. Burial will follow at Elmwood Memorial Park. Visitation with the family will be held prior to the service from Noon to 2 PM.
Bobby was born on July 23, 1929 in Abilene, TX to the late W.O. Maxwell Sr. and Eula Perry Maxwell. He was one of seven children and was twin to his brother Billy. Bobby was a veteran having served in the US Army. Bobby married Bobbye Jo Tidwell in 1962, in Abilene. She preceded him in death in 1995. Bobby was a professional golfer and instructor. The Maxwell Golf Course was named in honor of his father W.O Maxwell Sr. who was the golf pro for many years. Bobby was a Methodist and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Bobby is survived by his son, Jay Davis and wife Rebecca of Bedford, TX; grandchildren, Joel Davis and wife Hailee, Justin Davis, Joshua Davis; brother, Billy Maxwell of Jacksonville, FL; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
