Jacob Lujan Obituary

Jacob "Jake" Cole Lujan

ABILENE, TX

Jacob "Jake" Cole Lujan, 22, of Abilene, went home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, October 3, 2017. Funeral service will be 10:00AM, Saturday, October 7, at the Northwest Church of Christ, 1141 North Willis Street, directed by Abilene Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Abilene Municipal Cemetery.

Jake was born August 3, 1995, in Abilene, Texas to Patrick Lujan and Elida Garcia Lujan. Jake was saved and baptized at Primera Bautista Iglesia. He was an awesome father to his three year old son, Maxton. He always considered his son his greatest accomplishment. Jake's love showed through the happiness and joy that radiated while they were together. Jake graduated from Abilene High in 2013 and went straight to work for Starks Construction. He aspired to one day become a diesel mechanic and often spoke of furthering his education and fulfilling his dreams. Jake enjoyed fixing things and learning what made them work.

He was a kind and caring person always willing to help anyone when asked. His home was always open to his friends where they enjoyed his moms cooking and hanging out. Jake listened to a variety of different types of music. He also enjoyed going to live venues, gatherings, swimming, and BBQ's with family and friends.

Survivors include his son, Maxton Jacob Alexander Lujan and Maxton's mother, Melissa (Sadie) Hopper of Abilene; his parents, Patrick and Elida Lujan of Abilene; three sisters, Heather Cheyenne Lujan, Victoria, and Valerie Lomas, all of Abilene; paternal grandparents, Gilbert and Margaret Lujan of Big Spring, Texas; two nieces, Serenity Cantu and Vivianna Garza of Abilene; a nephew, Mathew Gonzalez; and many friends.

Jake was preceded in death by his grandparents, Benny and Petra Garcia; one aunt, Isabel Gloria Garcia; a nephew, Angel Jeremiah Garza; his paternal great-grandparents, John and Lidia Pena and Frieda Goodgion; and his maternal great-grandmother, Petra Rodriguez.

Honored to be pallbearers include Andrew Dyer, Jayden Huskin, Chris Alessio, Stephen Jimenez and Christopher Garza. Honorary pallbearers will be Frank Esparza and Alec Lujan.

The family will receive friends at a visitation from 6:00PM to 8:00PM, Friday, October 6, 2017, at Abilene Funeral Home Chapel of Hope, 3349 North 12th Street.
