Rebecca Mendoza Obituary
Abilene - Rebecca Ann Soto Mendoza, 74, of Abilene, passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2021 in Abilene.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at 10 AM at St. Vincent Pallotti Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Elmwood Memorial Park. A visitation will be held Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at 6 PM with a rosary following at 7 PM at the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel.
Rebecca was born on April 21, 1946 in Abilene, Texas to the late Miquel Soto and Maria Gomez Soto. She grew up in Camps Springs, TX and graduated from high school in Hobbs, TX. She married Alexander "Alex" Mendoza in 1969 and were blessed with 43 years together until his passing in August 18, 2012. Rebecca worked as a Paraprofessional for 33 years with Abilene ISD. She was a member of St. Vincent Pallotti Catholic Church and was known as a very caring and thoughtful person. Rebecca loved her family and friends dearly and always put them first.
Rebecca is survived by her daughter Sally Jimenez and husband Joel Jimenez; grandchildren, Alexandrea Mendoza, Angelique DeLeon, Joel Jimenez Jr., Ezekiel Mendoza, Caleb Dagenhart; 6 great grandchildren; 4 siblings; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Rebecca was also preceded in death by her son Alexander Mendoza Jr.

So sad to learn of Becky’s passing. She was a longtime dear friend of our mother, Martha Holmes. We loved Becky dearly. Truly one of the kindest people to ever walk this planet. May God’s comfort and peace be upon all of her family and loved ones. She lived a life of love and light for all to see.
