Virgilio "Vico" Escobedo Jr., 45, passed away Thursday, November 08, 2018 in Lubbock, Texas Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, November 16, 2018 at Northwest Church of Christ with Father Isidore Ochiabuto officiating. Burial will follow at Abilene Municipal Cemetery "Masonic Section", directed by Abilene Funeral Home.
Mr. Escobedo was born January 12, 1973, in Linares Nuevo Leon, Mexico to Virgilio and Maria De Carmen Escobedo. Virgilio was the best husband, father and grandfather, we could ask for. He was our loving, caring protector and provider. He wanted nothing but the best for his family. In his absence I hope we can strive to be the best we can and do better with the lessons and examples he left behind. He will be forever in our hearts.
Survivors include his loving wife Rebeca Escobedo; three sons: Alfredo (Betty) Verastegui, Freddy (Stacey) Verastegui of Abilene and Gene (Julie) Vesartegui of San Antonio; three daughters: Palomita (Ralph) Brown, Antonia Verastegui, Rebeca Verastegui and Beatrice (Dewayne) all of Abilene; five brothers: Elias Escobedo, Juan Antonio Escobedo, Francisco Javier Escobedo and Luis Alberto Escobedo all of Linares Nuevo Leon, Mexico and Jose Guadalupe Escobedo of Monterrey, Mexico; four sisters; Maria Del Carmen Escobedo, Maria Concepcion Escobedo Guillen, Nora Elia Escobedo all of Linares Nuevo Leon, Mexico and Rosa Elia Escobedo of Monterrey, Mexico; Grandchildren: Marissia Rodriguez, Frederick Johnson, De'Carlo Johnson, Amillion Johnson and Rebeca Elizabeth Verastegui plus 13 more and 9 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Escobedo was preceded in death by his parents Virgilio and Maria De Carmen Escobedo.
The family will receive friends at a visitation from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Thursday, November 15th, 2018 at Northwest Church of Christ. 1141 N. Willis Street. Praying of the Rosary will start 6:30 and Wake will be at 7:00 p.m.

Our deepest condolences to the family on your loss. Liz and I are so very sorry. Forced to say goodby brings up many emotions and memories. Though he sees death daily our loving Father is not insensitive. Feeling our pain he provides strength and comfort, and assures that the dead will live again in a new world where death pain and sorrow will be no more.....
.......... and so we wait patiently on our great God to reunite us with our loved ones that we are missing so much........
