Donald Widdison

1936 - 2022

Donald R. Widdison,85, of Rochester Hills, Michigan, passed away surrounded by his family on May 14, 2022.

Don was born July 9, 1936, in Hibbard, Idaho, to Reba Ricks and Ervin Widdison. He was raised on a large truck farm that provided produce to a wide area around Rexburg and up into Yellowstone. Don was part of a large

family but had a special bond with his oldest sister, Lucille, who was tasked with caring for him as a child. He enjoyed participating in the LDS church, scouting, and fishing. He became a successful masonry contractor and

has left his mark throughout Idaho and many other states. He was a master craftsman and was most proud of the work he did on buildings at Old Faithful in Yellowstone National Park. Don was also known for his compassion, integrity, and the huge smile he always had on his face. He truly enjoyed helping people. He entertained his children and grandchildren with stories from his past and silly songs he learned as a child. He developed a love of puzzles in his childhood that lasted throughout his life. Don will be missed by many people, but mostly by his family. Don is survived by his sweetheart and best friend of 67 years, Ronella Hendricks Widdison; his daughters,

Terry (Chris) Hauer, Michele Crowther, Linda (Jeff) Jones; his grandchildren, Brandon (Breanna) Jones, Bryan (Lauren) Jones, Michael Jones, Adam (Karena) Thompson; his great-grandchildren, Teofilo Jones, Claire

Jones, Declan Jones, Jaicee Dahl; and his siblings, Lucille Simmers, Warren Widdison, and Lynn Widdison. He was preceded in death by his parents, Reba and Ervin Widdison; and siblings, Ervin Widdison, Emerson Widdison,

Larene Widdison Larson, Clarence Widdison, Glenn Widdison, and Mildred Widdison Bailey.
