James Brizzee Obituary

On Saturday, December 12, 2020, James David Brizzee, loving son and brother passed away at home in Rexburg, Idaho, at the age of 36.

James was born in Rexburg, Madison County Idaho on April the 1, 1984. He attended school at Burton Elementary, Madison Middle and Jr. High Schools and graduated from Madison High School in 2002.

After high school James worked for his brother at Competition Curbing for a short time before serving an LDS Mission in the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania area.

After returning home from his mission, James worked for a season in Jackson, Wyoming for Teton Weed & Pest Control. He then obtained his CDL license and spent a few years driving semi truck in the oil fields in North Dakota. After that James returned to Rexburg and worked as a phlebotomist for BIOMEDICS in Rexburg and in Twin Falls. This led to James pursuing a successful career in the healthcare industry. James was a valued employee and spent the last five years working as a Traveling Manager for GCAM and helped to oversee the opening and management of many Plasma Donation Centers across the country. He had just returned home from working in California.

James's focus was always centered on his family. He made each member feel important and that they're needs came first before his own. He and his brothers' most enjoyable times were spent together, hunting, golfing and being outdoors observing nature. James had a passion for collecting rare and unique weapons and loved to show them off. His hobbies also included restoring old pickups. He had recently acquired a 1989 Ford diesel and a 1972 Chevy, short-box, four wheel drive. James was a philosopher at heart. He enjoyed learning about the world through travel and loved to read books about the universe and the cosmos. James had a great love for music of all kinds especially the old classics such as Johnny Cash and Elvis, etc. James was a man of few words but had a giant heart and would give you the shirt off his back and was always known for his generosity.

James was preceded in death by his father, Val H. Brizzee, his maternal grandparents, Sylvan and Viola Cook. Paternal grandparents Francis and Eliza Brizzee, his uncles, Sylvan "Neal" Cook, Lain Brizzee and Roy Brizzee. He is survived by his mother, Nelia Cook Brizzee, his siblings Maurie (Doug) Purser, Gabe (Amy) Brizzee, Erin (Jim) Crittenden, Josh (Hilary) Brizzee, Tyler (Stephanie) Brizzee, T Jay (Jennifer) Brizzee and multiple nieces, nephews, an uncle, aunts and cousins.
