Bruce Alan

PARKHURST

Bruce passed away suddenly at home on December 29, 2008. He was a 4th generation Nevadan who was born on May 7, 1962 in Ely, and lived his entire life in the Reno area. He attended Hug High School and worked from the time he was 15 years old. He was a fun loving person who could get along with anyone. He loved his family, especially doing things with his kids. He enjoyed reading, going fishing, and a good joke.

Bruce is survived by Teresa and their two children, Sandi and Reed. He is also survived by his mother, Ann; brother, Jamie (Cortney); sister, Susan Wehrkamp (Walt); nieces, Vanessa and Brooklyn; and nephew, Grant.

Please join us for a memorial service celebrating Bruce's life which will be held at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Vista Blvd., Sparks, on Friday, January 2, 2008 at 5 p.m.

Bruce was one of the nicest guys I knew. I worked with him at WM. Bruce and his wife Terry both invited me into their home on a few occasions. Terry, your entire family was so fun to be with. Your were so gracious. And I will always remember that. Bruce helped me through some rough times by simply listening and giving positive advice.
He will be greatly missed =]

Living in Seattle, I did not have many opportunities to see Bruce over the years but I got to see him last year when my mom and I were visiting my Aunt Susan and her family. I am very thankful that I got to see him. He was a great person and fun to be around. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. Rest in peace Bruce.

Bruce was my first friend. My oldest memories include our fort in his backyard on 84th Street in Seattle. We were the same age, but he was bigger than life to me. We were bloodbrothers, destined to get into alot of trouble together. Then he moved a million miles away to Reno. I only saw Bruce a few times since then, but I'd like to think I carry some of his personality with me. I know my life's better for having known him. I love you buddy! Rest in Peace

Bruce was my nephew by marriage. I didn't get to know him well but I knew him as a kind, friendly man who was beloved by his family. He left us much too early and will be greatly missed. Rest in peace, Bruce. My family and I send our heartfelt condolences to his family, especially to Ann, Jamie, Susan, Theresa, Sandi, and Reed. May the happy memories of Bruce give you comfort now and in the days ahead.
