Charlene Elaine Emmons, 78, entered in to eternal life after a brief but brave fight with heart-related complications.
She was born and raised in Evanston, IL where she developed a passion for sports and spent her life as a loyal Chicago White Sox, Minnesota Vikings and Chicago Blackhawks fan.
She had a long career at NASA as a security specialist and moved to Reno after she retired in 2002. She enjoyed playing bridge with her friends, listening to jazz, and spending time with her wire fox terrier, Charlie.
Charlene is survived by her son, Mark Emmons, and daughter-in-law, Connie Emmons of Seattle, WA, mother, Helen Glass of Evanston, IL, siblings Dorothy (Polly) Hutchinson of Huntsville, AL, Charles (Tuffy) Glass of Kennesaw, GA, Helen (Kitty) Fulce and brother-in-law Clarence Fulce of Evanston, IL, niece Tracy Fulce of Evanston, IL, niece Cherie Glass-Mumin of Evanston, IL, cousin Bobbie Lee of Pleasant Prairie WI, nephew Ryan Strong and Kim Strong of Ft. Leavenworth, KS, and granddaughters Carissa Pietzsch and Kelsey Pietzsch of Seattle, WA.
A celebration of life will be held at 3:00pm on Friday, December 12, 2014 at Walton's Funeral Home (1745 Sullivan Lane Sparks, Nevada 89431). In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations to be made to ASPCA in her memory.
