I just saw today that Dana had passed away! I emailed him a couple of weeks ago and didn't get a reply so did a search on the obituary page. So sad to hear! He fought a good fight. To Karen, Simsie, and Larry. During my high school years, your home was like a second home to me. Thank-you for your welcoming hearts to put up with a donkey teenager! Dana was truly a brother to me: always filled with fun and a lust for life; and how he loved his friends!
And to Terry, thank-you for the great love Dana had from you. He was so clearly happy with his life with you! A great soul has left this side of the veil, but what a great experience he is having on the other side! I am certain of that, because Dana is a source of light wherever he is. How we will miss him until we see him again!

Dana: So sorry to see this notice. so Many times when we would see each other over the last 50 years I was always left smiling. Your huge presence and Gruff Booming voice. Love for life and Harley Davidsons, we'll have to share on the other side. Another "HUG THUG". David Davidow
Rest in Peace my friend.

Hello, I am very sorry to hear about Dana's passing.
I knew Dana for a short while when we both worked for Helms construction probably 40 years ago. He was a lot of fun to work with. But what always stands out in my memory and I have told a lot of people about this was when I was eating lunch one day I had a spaghetti sandwich and he saw it and said that he thought he was the only person to ever bring those for lunch. We both agreed that they are the best.
The other thing he did was when he applied to get into the Electrician's union he had the amazing courage to ask Robert L. Helms for a recommendation. Most everyone for the most part was scared of RL .
But not Dana, and RL gave him a great recommendation.
In construction there is a term used to describe a person as a good worker, one who is not afraid to work and will help out in any way they can and that term is: "A good guy".
Dana was a "Good Guy".
My condolences,
Kraig Smith

I cannot express the sadness that I feel with Dana's passing. A true gentleman and friend. The world was a better place due to your presence and I am a better person for knowing Dana.
I will miss you Dana, Godspeed my friend.
