David Alan Gordon

Dave was born on September 8, l964 in Mountain View California to parents, Sandra and Ted Gordon. He went to school in Sunnyvale and after graduation from Fremont High School, he attended a special mechanic school called Universal Technical Institute in Phoenix, Arizona and graduated with honors as a Master Mechanic. In 1989, he had a mechanic shop of his own In Incline Village, Nevada. He married in 1999 and moved to Washington state in a small town called Woodinville. He and his wife Tasia, then bought a property that allowed them to build a large barn in which Dave and his step-dad, Chuck Masters, began building aircraft. The first plane was a Lanceaire 4P which was half done when his dad passed away in 2003 and his mom, Sandy Masters, and he finished the plane and sold it. Thereafter, he was divorced and came back to Reno, Nevada for a few years to help his mom look after his grandmother, Vera Haigh. Once she passed away in 2011, Dave and his significant other, Robin Slover, moved back to Arizona to be near her parents, and Dave worked at different places as a car mechanic and also maintained heavy equipment for various companies. He is survived by his son, David Shane Gordon and his stepbrothers, Ken Masters, Don Masters and Del Masters and stepsisters Sandra Laluzerne and Chayah Masters as well as his sister Kimberly Zankich. His mother, Sandy Masters, is also a resident of Reno. The family thanks the hospice organizations that helped Dave through his last days and friends in Sparks who were willing to help along the way. There will be a gathering of friends and family sometime in August to remember Dave and share memories.
