Deuxienne Gladding Obituary

Deuxienne "Dee" Gladding

Reno - Deuxienne "Dee" Gladding age 65, passed away on January 10, 2020 with many of her family at her side. Dee finally had no pain and was at peace.

Dee is survived by her husband, Chris Gladding; three daughters, Shay Moore, Andrea Brunet and Kim Zylstra; her son, Damien Schmuck; mother, Barbara Reed; siblings, Craig Schmuck, Jennie Schliep, Renee Brossart; and five grandchildren, Jacob Zylstra, Connor Schmuck, Katie Schmuck, Evelyn Moore and Eleanor Moore. Dee was preceded in death by her brother, Eric Schmuck; and father, Chuck Schmuck.

Dee's passion was reading and crafts of the miniature variety. Her close friends, Nancy and Kelly, spent many hours pursing their passion in crafts. In 1993 Dee received her AA Degree from TMCC in the field of alcoholism and drug addiction. Another passion of Dee's was her grandchildren. She loved to interact with them. Dee received tremendous joy out of verbally jousting with her brother in law, Gil. They were always trying to get one up on the other.

Dee spent the past 30 sober years of her life as an active member of Alcoholic Anonymous. Her passion was supporting and mentoring the underserved people of the community in their battle with alcoholism and drug addiction. Dee worked at the old Alano Club (1124 "C" St., Sparks, NV) as the manager of the coffee bar, before we moved it to 1640 Prater Way, Sparks, NV. She loved her work, which allowed her the time to help many women as they transitioned to a sober life. One of her last wishes was for recovery people to support the Reno Triangle Club. She knew that A.A. recovery clubs save lives. Bill W. wrote, "Even our clubs, well inside A.A., are somewhat set apart." She understood and supported this principle.

A memorial service will be held upon her son's return from his overseas deployment at a date and time to be announced later this year, (hopefully March or April).

Lastly, Dee received comfort from reading the story, "The Keys to the Kingdom" in our text, Alcoholic Anonymous, and now she has her key, her pain is gone, and she is safe in our Heavenly Father's arms.

Dee was a fun person with tons of creativity! Growing up, she would have us putting on plays, tape us as we read parts from comic books, and somtimes creating mischief. She once gave us indian names, and mine was little laughing flower! You could tell Dee anything knowing you could count on her love and support. My condolences to her family. I loved, and will miss her her greatly.

Dear Chris , Sending all the love and gratitude in the world . Those of us fortunate enough to share " the trenches " where miracles are forged are forever blessed. Though gone from Reno , we carry those precious gifts to others in far away places. Trudging the Road. D's love is imprinted on mine and many hearts. I believe D became those Steps and Traditions. Forward in grace. Thank you D ! A true one of a kind. That's just how God makes us. B.B. Sob.Date March 20,1989
