Donna Luchetti Obituary

Donna Lee Luchetti

OCTOBER 7, 1924 - AUGUST 30, 2020

Donna was born in Valley, Nebraska, to Roy and Emagene Peterson. She peacefully departed this life at home in the arms of her husband of 66 years, Leo Luchetti.

Growing up in the small rural town of Valley, Donna and her sister Marge were well known for their personally delivered homemade pies, cruising in a Model T, and lightning up the dance floor at Lawrence Welk dances in nearby Lincoln.

After high school graduation and a year of college, Donna's adventurous spirit inspired her to follow Marge to California, where she met and married Frank Perry.

In 1945, they relocated to Reno where she gave birth to two sons, Michael and Patrick.

In 1954, Donna met and married her second husband, Leo whom she remained happily married until her death. Marrying Leo brought his children, Leonora and Leo, whom she loved as her own.

Donna's passion was caring for her family, raising her children and …cooking! Besides the usual meals, during the holidays, birthdays and special occasions she created homemade raviolis, spaghetti sauce and eggplant parmesan! These many fun gatherings will be solely missed and irreplaceable. Thank You Mom!

Donna also explored careers outside the home, working at the original Wolf Den restaurant in the fifties, the Holiday Hotel, chairside for oral surgeon Dr. Betz and concluding as a Washoe County School District Teacher's Assistant at Piccolo School for special needs students for 25 years.

Living on Hillcrest Dr. by Virginia Lake for 36 years, there was rarely a time that there wasn't a car or two out in front by a friend or relative that just wanted to "Stop By" and check on what they may have missed from their last visit. Her kind words, great advice and just giving anyone who walked through that front door her undivided attention was simply unparalleled!

Donna was preceded in death by: her parents, sister Marge Devries, daughter Leonora, granddaughter Gina Perry, grandsons Trent Perry and Zachary Pharris.

Donna is survived by: husband Leo, sons Michael Perry, Patrick Perry (Karen), Leo Luchetti (Sandy), grandsons Tim Perry (Susan), Tom Perry, Tyler Perry, Seve Luchetti, Carey Elario and great- grandchildren, Jack, Ryan and Candon.

A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Albert The Great Catholic Church, 1259 St Albert Dr. by invitation on Friday November 13th 2020 at 12:00.
