Edward Holekamp Obituary

Holekamp, Edward Alfred Ed passed away on January 28, 2014. He is survived by his wife and companion, Ann Tammany. Edward was born on May 23, 1937] to Richard and Marie Holekamp of Webster Groves, Missouri. He had four brothers and two sisters, two of whom survived him, Jennie Burst and Mack Holekamp. He had one son, Ted (Penny) and grandchildren, Simon and Mike. Ed graduated from Webster Groves High School, and left Purdue to serve in the Army Air Force in W.W.II's Pacific Theatre. Following the war, he started and ran Holekamp Equipment until he retired in 1988. During this time, he traveled all over the world, and spent many happy summers boating and in Port Huron, Michigan. Throughout, he loved being with his family members, and his love of life and his generosity made everyone's lives more exciting. During this time, he met his wife and companion, Ann Tammany. Her family welcomed him with open arms and he loved their nieces and nephews. Ed also felt beloved by his only son, Ted, and Ted's sons, Simon and Michael Holekamp. He often traveled to their homes on Vancouver Island and Wickaninnish Island on the West Coast of British Columbia. Ed's love of the ocean was instilled in his grandchildren, and he followed their prawn fishing and guiding with keen interest. Ed also loved his farm in Texas County, Missouri, and the time he spent with his brother, Mack, and his nephews and nieces, Dr. Tim Holekamp, Bill Holekamp, Dr. Terry Holekamp, and Linda Holekamp.
