Eleanor Quiggle Obituary

Eleanor "June" Quiggle, 82, passed away on Thursday, September 30, 2010, at her home with her family at her side after a brave, two year battle with cancer.
Born in Chicago, Illinois on July 12, 1928, June was the youngest of 10 children. In 1946 she moved to California and married her husband, Gerald "Jerry" Quiggle. They moved to Reno, Nevada in 1962 with their 7 children. She retired with AT&T after 29 years, but always felt her greatest accomplishment was that of being a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved the outdoors and found great enjoyment in feeding the birds and gardening.
June is survived by her husband of 64 years Jerry, daughters Theresa (Anthony) Nannini, Paula Cuddy, Sheila (Greg) Powning; sons Jay (Ruth) Quiggle, Guy (Mary) Quiggle, Chad (Chris) Quiggle, and Jeff Quiggle; grandchildren Tony Nannini, Lisa Hartshorn, Jill Raemisch, Ryan Cuddy, Jennifer Shepphird, Shari Caselli, Kyle Powning, Jeanna Squires, Quinten Quiggle, Angie Quiggle, Skye Quiggle, Sage Quiggle and 14 great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 9, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Mother of Sorrows Chapel.

Theresa, Tony and all of June's family, my heart is with you. You're in my prayers. I worked with June on the cord board at Nevada Bell 41 years ago. I always enjoyed visiting with her between calls. She was a good friend.

So sad to lose Aunt Junie from this lifetime, but comforted to know that she suffers no more. What a grand family reunion she must be enjoying up in heaven! I have many fond memories of my visits to see her and Uncle Jerry and my Quiggle cousins. I especially enjoyed their 50th anniversary celebration with so many family coming from across the country.
Also remember when Junie and Jerry drove to Chicago in the early 1980's with their camper. They set up "camp" in my backyard and I really enjoyed their company. May Aunt Junie be at peace. Loving thoughts and prayers to Uncle Jerry and all my cousins.

Oh so many great memories of my childhood with Aunt June and Uncle Jerry and family. My favorite is when Aunt Charlotte won the jackpot and took everyone to breakfast at the casino the following morning. A. June, U. Jerry, Theresa, Paula, Sheilia, Jay, Guy, Chad, Jeff. Jayne, Steve & Betty Henderson, A. Ethel Quiggle, perhaps even A. Lois was there. We had a great time thanks to June and Jerry and A. Charlotte. Thanks for all the memories.

Our prayers are with Uncle Jerry and family as they mourn the loss of their wife and mother, June. We remember many visits and June was always the sweetest, kind, soft spoken lady who always thought of others, always had a gift for everyone. God bless her in the new life of eternity where she will welcome each of us someday. And God bless you, Uncle Jerry, you have much to be proud of with your many years of marriage and your loving children. Love to all of you, Cousin Joan, Aunt Betty and Aunt Ethel.
