Jim Skoglund, a resident of Nevada since 1965 passed away at Renown Hospital. He was born an identical twin in Minneapolis MN to Verne and Lydia Skoglund. After his duty to his country in photography with the Air Nation Guard, he began his photography career with Lifetouch National School Studios in 1960. He retired after 36 years in 1996. Jim was a 25 year member of the Reno Elk Club, life time member of the Nevada PTA, and alumni member of Lifetouch Alumni Club. He and his identical twin, Jack, were involved in the university of Minnesota twin research study for 20 years. A avid snow skier, fisherman, hunter, and he loved to travel in his motor home with his beloved wife, Ina. He was a donor to the DCI tissue gift transplant for burned victims.

Jim is survived by his wife, Ina Larson Skoglund, of 31 years of Reno, his daughter, Nicole and Rob of Billings, MT. Four step children, Dr. Thomas Bzoskie MD, Jeffrey Bzoskie, Gary Bzoskie, and Connie Bzoski. He is also survived by his sister, Karen and Tom Meyer of Tampa, FL and brother, Bob and LaDonna Skoglund of Albuquerque, NM, and Mrs. Carol Skoglund and son, John of Minneapolis, MN. He was also the "greatest grandpa ever" to his ten grandchildren and his one great grand son. He also had many loved nieces and nephews.

Jim you were the best photographer;
You were just like your camera
You focused on what’s important
You captured the good times
And if things were negative and didn’t work out
You always took another shot!

Jim was my boss back in the late 70s. We took thousands of school pictures all over Nevada. He taught me a lot. Jim worked hard, and he was great at handling the children to evoke their best smiles. He was always professional.
