Joshua Rose Obituary

Joshua Michael Rose

May 13, 1966

June 7, 2014

Joshua Michael Rose left us all too soon. Having recently celebrated his 18th birthday, he had also just completed his junior year at Lowry High School. He was born to Carl and Andree Rose in Winnemucca, Nevada on May 13, 1996 and left us on June 7, 2014 in Winnemucca, Nevada.

He was not only a scholar, but was involved in community service, was a member of the Lowry Golf team, Vice President of the Junior and Senior Class of 2015, a passionate part of the Advanced Irrintzi Basque Dance Group, a member of the National Honor Society, and a referee for Winnemucca Little League Basketball. Joshua loved hunting, fishing, playing basketball, running, weightlifting, playing guitar and singing with his best friend Brycen, watching and staying loyal to the Indianapolis Colts, travelling, reading, and of course, golfing, Basque dancing, and hanging out with his best friends. He was a member of, and a lector for, St. Paul's Catholic Church and worked for the Winnemucca Golf Course and was a lawn-boy, as needed. His passion was being a mentor to kids, and he was always available for a round of golf, as well as living that jet lyfe.

Joshua lived each day to the fullest, with his engaging, signature smile, ability to laugh and make everything better for those around him. He did not regret yesterday and was never anxious about tomorrow. He loved deeply and completely, and was incredibly loyal. He was committed, focused, diligent, studious, fun-loving, compassionate and forgiving, as well. As parents and as a sister, we were blessed by every day of his 18 years. We could not have asked for a better son or brother. He had an unshakable moral compass and leaves a legacy that we all will strive to emulate.

He is preceded in death by his Great Grandparents and joins them to welcome us into Heaven when we arrive.

He is survived by his parents, Carl and Andree Rose, his sister, Elise Rose, his Grandparents, Frank and Jo Bidart, Mike and Mary Lou Curti, and Carl and Sandy Rose all of Winnemucca, his uncles and aunts, Frank and Tracy Bidart and Robert and Kelly Bidart, their children, his cousins Dylan and Ali Miller, Vinnie and Marissa DePaoli, and Angelo Bidart, all of Sparks, Nevada, his aunt and uncle, Carol and Rich Sargent and their children, his cousins, Bryanna and Bradley Sargent of Metaline Falls, Washington, and his aunt Alex Martinez and her children, his cousins, Wyatt and Hayden of Henderson, Nevada. He has numerous Great Aunts and Uncles, cousins, many adoptive Aunts, and phenomenal second parents, Alicia and Brian Prokasky, all of whom are close members of his family although extended, and his best friend and brotha from another motha, Brycen Prokasky.

A viewing will be held at Albertson's Funeral Home on Friday, June 13, 2014, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. We will celebrate his life with a Catholic Mass on Saturday, June 14th, 2014, at 11:30 a.m. in the West Hall of the Convention Center in Winnemucca, Nevada. Our wish is that you dress in attire that most represents your relationship with Joshua.

The family requests that, In lieu of flowers, donations be made in Joshua's name to a memorial scholarship fund that has been established at Lowry High School. Donations may be sent to the Joshua Rose Memorial Scholarship, in care of Lowry High School, 5375 Kluncy Canyon Road, Winnemucca, NV 89445.

We would like to thank Dr. Perkinson, Humboldt General Hospital, the City Police Department, the Sheriff's Department, Lowry High School, the Humboldt County School District Administration, Euskaldunak Danak Bat, Father Jose Sobarzo and St. Paul's Catholic Church, and the many friends, family, community members, and students, all too numerous to count and thank individually, who have been, and continue to be, overwhelmingly supportive throughout this time of inconceivable loss.

Arrangements are under the direction of Albertson Funeral Home, 47 W. First Street, Winnemucca, NV. 775-623-2986
