Larry Germain Obituary
Larry Paul Germain, loving brother and friend, passed away at Renown South Meadows Hospital, October 22, 2020 from Covid-19, at the age of 65.
Larry was born on July 31, 1955 in San Rafael, California to Dennis and Jeannette Germain, the 3rd child and brother to four sisters. He earned Master's Degrees in Range Ecology and Computer Science from Colorado State University and the University of Wyoming, respectively. He retired from computer programming several years ago.
Larry had a passion for fishing, golfing, shooting, various mad-scientist projects & he developed a knack for choosing excellent friends. Larry loved them all and was loved by all. Larry cherished his yearly fishing trips to Canada with his close friends, sharing photos he took and boasting of the "huge" fish he often caught. As a brother, Larry cared for his sisters with an unconditional and fervent love. He often visited his sisters and frequently organized family reunions, where he would ensure all enjoyed exquisite cocktails, meals and adventures. Larry's anecdotes and sharp wit always kept us laughing while we reminisced, learned of his latest projects and travels, his thoughts on politics, the world, who won the latest US Open - and, on occasion, the Denver Broncos.
Larry was preceded in death by his father, Dennis, his mother, Jeannette and his sister, Linda. He is survived by his sisters, Diane Beggs, Sandra Kottke and Cynthia Germain; his nephews, Ethan, Noah and Isaiah Nicolle and Daniel & Adam Schwartz; and numerous grandnieces and grandnephews.
Larry was cremated and his ashes will be scattered at the many places he loved to be, by both family and friends.
A celebration of life for Larry Germain is being held on May 16, 2021 at 1:00PM at the Flying B Pavilion, Bartley Ranch Rd in Reno, NV. Please RSVP by reaching out to Diane, Sandy or Cindy. Please wear masks and follow social distancing guidelines.

Larry has long been a loyal and genuine friend, quick with a smile and a welcoming greeting. His warm personality melted away the worries of the day, brightening any mood with half-fabulous tales, unexpected insights, and contrary opinions bound to stimulate spirited yet delightful conversation. It has been my rare privilege to call Larry friend, and a little bit of him lives on in my heart until we meet again.

I am sending my most heartfelt condolences to the family. Larry’s passing was too soon and I was saddened to hear this news. I was fortunate to be his real estate agent 20 years ago. He was a very kind and caring individual. I enjoyed working with him with regards to purchasing his home. He was so excited to be in Nevada. He will be missed by his loving family. It was a pleasure to have known him. Rest In Peace, Larry.

It was such a shock to hear about Larry's passing. I had the pleasure of working with Larry for many years and together we built a very reliable application which is still working well even after many years. In addition to the very valuable work experience I will always remember hearing about his hunting and fishing trips, the get-togethers at at the Reno rib cookoff and the lunches we had after he retired.

Larry was a very special and dear friend for the eight years I have been in Reno. When my sister and I moved here, we were warmly welcomed into a circle of friends Fondly called "The Corner Group", of which Larry was a core member. The Thanksgiving and Fourth of July celebrations at his home will be forever wonderful memories for me and the others. He was the perfect host and loved having his family of friends together in his home. He is already missed and still loved. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to his family.

I enjoyed working with Larry for many years at TriNet. He had a great sense of humor. He loved his corner of the office here in Reno. He didn't hold back in his thoughts, when you asked him a question. He will be missed by many at the company. He left his mark here, in a good way!
