Lola Bailey Obituary

Lola M. Maionchi

BAILEY

February 26, 1915 - May 20, 2009

After a brief illness Lola M. Bailey quietly passed away at Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center. Lola, a long-time Reno resident most recently lived at Classic Residence in Reno.

Lola worked many years for Washoe County and was active with her husband, James C. Bailey (deceased 1999) managing a small business and pursuing James' successful career as Nevada State Senator, Assembly Member and Director of Motor Vehicles. Her passion was the weekly bridge game with friends. A true Nevada native, Lola was born in Yerington to Melio and Elvira Maionchi. She had two sisters, Florence Whichard (Ben) of Yountville, California and Marie Crompton (deceased).

Her pride was her four children, Brynne Marsh - deceased (Phinnie), Kathy Ebner (David), Sheri Evans (Ray) and James Jr. (Pam). She was equally proud of her 9 grand children, Shelly Marsh Walters (Lyle), Christy Marsh Brenner (Kurt), Karen Ebner Bradley (Tom), John Ebner (Dede), Mark Ebner (Gloria), Andy Ebner (Kristi), Tracy Evans Waldrop (Ed), Michelle Evans Schroeder (Josh) and Megan Bailey. Including an expected any day arrival, Lola is also survived by 18 great-grandchildren.

Following Lola's wishes the family plans only to gather for a small memorial where they will reflect on the joys that she brought to all of them. In lieu of flowers it was Lola's desire that those who wished would make a private donation to the charity of their choice. The love and support of her many friends is deeply appreciated by her family.
