Michael Lawrence Holter was born on March 1, 1945 in Grand Forks, North Dakota to Lloyd George Holter and Hazel Berniece Holter (Haugo). He passed away at his home on June 8, 2021 in Fernley, Nevada. After receiving his High School Diploma Mike enlisted in the United States Navy. He served from July 25, 1963 to October 24, 1967. Those who knew Mike know that he loved hummingbirds. He had several feeders hanging outside of his kitchen window so that he could watch them every summer. He always looked forward to his trips to Minnesota for family reunions and fishing. He loved his family and friends very much and will be greatly missed. Services will be held for Mike at the Veterans Cemetery in Fernley on July 23rd at 2:00 with a reception to follow at the Fernley Golf Club at 3:00.

I knew Mike through the father of my daughters and my best friend Barb Holter. The four of us had so many good times and some crazy adventures. Barb and I always respected the fathers of our children, and encouraged our children to always be a part of our lives and their's. We always said we would care for them, because they were the father of our children. I know Mike loved his children and they loved him. He will be watching over them now, as he always did. May your memories be treasures in your heart.
