Peter Blumberg Obituary
Nov. 25, 1939 - April 4, 2018 - Peter Bowen Blumberg was born in St. Johns, New Brunswick, Canada. He spent his early years in Connecticut until the family moved to La Canada, CA. Joining the AF in 1962, he was based at Nellis AFB and did a tour of duty in Iceland. His love of animals was expanded, being in the K-9 division of the Air Police.
After his tour of duty, he resided in Las Vegas, settling into a successful long term of employment with the Valley Uniform Supply, where he developed a close relationship with his work family. He met and married his wife, Ruth, in 1974. They subsequently moved to Reno in 1983. Pete loved living in Washoe Valley for several years, enjoying the ranch style living with his horses. Moving into Reno in 2000, He and Ruth enjoyed their time together living in a retirement community. Pete loved to travel across the country, especially Rt 66. His rescue kitties were his buddies and provided him with many years of enjoyment.
Pete's is predeceased by his parents, Nathanial and Caroline Blumberg and daughter, Misty Ann Blumberg. Pete is survived by his wife Ruth; daughter Donna (Matt) Ward; granddaughter, Jennifer (Carter) Fox; great grandson Cooper Fox; sister Carol Ball; niece Marissa Ball and nephew Dennis Ball.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 from 4pm - 6pm at the Walton Funeral Home -Sierra Chapel: 875 West 2nd St. Reno, NV. Pete will be laid to rest in Palm Cemetery, Las Vegas, NV.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Nevada Humane Society would honor his love of animals.

I remember a time Ruth and Pete stopped in Eugene, OR for a visit when returning from Seattle area. We spent an afternoon driving around looking for "Moose Something" beer. We finally found it in a little store in rural Veneta. Then I found out he wasn't going to drink it, it was an addition to his beer collection! It was fun being with friends.
