On Monday morning June 6, surrounded by her family, Robin peacefully joined her mother in Heaven. She was born in Huntington Park, California on August 16, 1944. During her life she touched many people through her devotion to education and learning. During her career she taught in big cities in California as well as a two room school house in Kings River, Nevada. She proudly retired after 35 years of service. At Grass Valley Elementary she was recognized as teacher of the year. Post retirement, she continued her passion by teaching at the college level, her life long dream.
Robin was an avid reader, passionate traveler,and enjoyed multiple adventures with her family. She took a cruise to Mexico in April with her special gentleman friend, Garry. She loved her HGTV, DIY and Food network.
Robin met Garry Fanthorpe when she was a Mariner and he was a Sea Explorer. She wanted to thank him for renewing her faith in love. Many thanks to Clem her partner in crime for all those years.
Robin was so proud to have been "picked" by her dad, she loved him dearly. Robin is survived by her father, Ron Blasche, aunt, LaVonne Blasche, her sisters Marsha Adams (Kirk), Paula Wallace (Brian), and her four children, Patty Herzog, Kathryn Staley (Dave), Eileen Miller, Jeffrey Michael Blair, and nine grandchildren.
There will be a celebration of Robin's life on June 9, at 11:00 am at 6511 Fall River Circle. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Washoe Retired Education Assn Scholarship Fund by contacting Danny Kitts at 2080 Dant Blvd., Reno, NV 89509.

I will always remember meeting Robin. She was my roommate at a summer teacher's convention. What a warm & caring lady. We shared wine & solved the world's problems.
I'm so sorry we never got that lunch date planned this Spring.
My thoughts are with the family. Even though I haven't met you, I've heard fond thoughts of all of you from Robin.

My two most vivid memories of Robin are when she saved her baby sister Paula from choking and the summer Robin rode with us up to the Sierras to join her family for a week of camping. It was August, so we celebrated her birthday with a dinner at Convict Lake.
She faced her illness with great courage. My sympathies to you all.

I remember Robin as a teacher, and got to know her as my friends' mother. She was kind, sweet, and funny woman. I feel lucky to have known her at all.
