Steve Wiley Obituary

Steve J.H. Wiley

April 18, 1956

October 10, 2012

Steve J.H. Wiley, 56, of Reno, passed away on October 10, 2012 in Calpine, CA while enjoying the comforts of his cabin in the woods and the company of family.

Steve was born in Bell, California to John and Louise Wiley on April 18, 1956. He served honorably as a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps. After returning back to the Reno area, he worked 32 years as a plumber and contractor. His passion was spending time with his wife, family and friends and his loyal golden retriever Shasta. Steve loved the finer things in life, such as the shine of buffed out chrome on a classic American vehicle, the rumble of a finely tuned motor and the smell of mountain pine.

Steve is preceded in death by his parents, John and Louise Wiley. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Teresa Wiley, daughter Jessica Wiley, son Jason Wiley, sister Ramona Smith, brother William "Dan" Wiley, Megan Wiley, Adam Wiley, Collin Wiley and many other nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

A memorial service and celebration of his life will be held at Mountain View Mortuary, 425 Stoker Ave. Reno, NV on Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at 1:30 p.m.

As Steve was a lover of animals the family asks in lieu of flowers, donations be made in his name to the SPCA of Northern Nevada or the Nevada Human Society.

Dear Theresa, Jessica and Jason, Cary and I are so saddened to hear of your loss. Steve and Cary worked together and we all played together back in the day. He was a good man, a good husband, father and plumber. Cary was in ND hunting so we did not know about and were unable to attend the service. We send you our thoughts and prayers. Love Cary and Laurel Lindstrom

The thing I remember the most about Steve was his laugh. He had a great laugh. In the 25 years I knew him, he always had a smile on his face and again his laugh. You will be missed by many people.
