Tom Farrer Obituary

Tom Burke Farrer passed away peacefully at his home in Carson City with his adoring wife Lynn by his side. He was born and raised in Reno, graduating from Reno High School. He went on to serve in the U.S Navy as a Radioman. While enlisted in the Navy he married Marietta Cardon Rogers and they had four children together. Upon release from the service he earned a Masters of Science in Public Administration from UNR. He had a long career with the State of Nevada, at State Industrial Insurance System, Rural Clinics, the Highway Patrol Fiscal Division and Department of Business and Industry. He married Lynn Farrer in 1983 and raised a daughter. Tom is survived by 5 children, Amanda Farrar (Richard Hire), Belinda Zola (Steve), Burke Farrar, Anthony Morris Farrar (Maria) and Katie Day (Mike Pitlock). Grandchildren J.J. & Jenna Conner, Jordan, Danielle & Kayla Zola, Pandora, Pere, Noelle, Arianna & Nathan Farrar & Lyndi Day. Nephews Robert & Antony Chapman & many other loved ones too numerous to mention. "Daddy Tom" was a man of integrity who was deeply committed to his family & friends. He will be dearly missed. Services will be held on Saturday June 9th, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. at the Masonic Chapel located within the Mt. View Cemetary in Reno, NV. "Yippity Yip"

Oh Lynn, I'm so sorry for your loss - you two were great together! I wish I could have known him better - he seemed like a neat guy. May our Lord comfort you in ways no one else can. From my heart, to you and your family.

Richard has lit a candle for Tom. You are in my heart and memory. I will always cherish the wonderful times we shared in Spain and the Mendocino coast with you, Lynn and my beautiful wife (your daughter Amanda). Rest in Peace Tom.

Tom will always be remembered as a good friend and most wonderful chef......his bagel and sausage making parties were so much fun and certainly made many memories.

Your cousin Charles is sorry that our paths never crossed that much. i would have liked it to have been better, but that's the way life can be. I remember the times all of us were together at the Burke house on Stewart St, and the fun times we had.
