Travis Moses Obituary

On October 25, 1946 twins, Travis Dean and Mavis Jean Moses, were born in Reno, NV. Travis died in a car accident April 24, 2010 in Sacramento, CA.
Travis grew up on the army base in Herlong, CA and graduated from Herlong High. After high school the family moved to Sparks, NV where he became a truck driver for Helms Construction. He later worked for IML Freight for 15 years until the company closed. He then went to work for Consolidated Freightways and was transferred to Sacramento. After retiring from Consolidated he began working at Logex, which later became Trimac where he worked until his death. He was a truck driver for 43 years and logged close to 4 million miles, coast to coast.
All who knew and loved Travis will miss his ready smile, sense of humor, helpful demeanor, and ability to make friends easily.
Travis was preceded in death by his grandparents, brother, Leroy Curtis Moses II, step-brother, Reverend William Hights, and daughter, Vanessa Moses, who passed away in Reno February 4, 2010, from heart failure.
He will be sorely missed by his parents, Leroy and Geneva Moses of Sparks, NV, wife, Melissa Moses of Sacramento, siblings, Mavis Williams, Chris Whisenant, Theresa Grant, and Marian Moses, stepsisters, Linda Dolton & Virginia Hights, children, Travis Moses Jr., Damien Moses, Deontrae Moses, Adrian Jefferson, Treles Moses, Latoya Moses, Tionna Moses, June Rose Moses, Tomisha Moses, six grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, friend and driving partner of 15 years Ron Bernardo, and a plethora of friends.
A public viewing was held Monday, May 3 from 4:00 - 8:00 pm at Ross, Burke & Knobel Mortuary at 2155 Kietzke Lane. Services will be held Tuesday, May 4, 12:00 p.m. at the Second Baptist Church, 1265 Montello St., Reno, NV 89512.

I truly feel sorry for Melissa Tiana and the rest of the Family. I spoke for some time to Travis when I met him 10 years ago as we both served or are serving our Country. It's very hard to take in the fact he went before his time, I wish the candle had not been put out so early, old Soldiers never forget.

Have never had the pleasure of meeting Travis. But, I was blessed to know his mother and father. My father's sister and her husband. She came to Wheaton to visit a few times. Sorry, Travis that we never met. You and the entire Moses family are in my thoughts and prayers. My sympathies to the family.

Travis was a dedicated father, husband, and friend. To me he was a damn good brother-in-law, and I feel he left this world too early.
I wish I could be there with my sister, and niece to offer some comfort. Travis Moses was one of the most generous, and selfless people I've ever met.
My prayers are with our family, and friends.
I miss him very much.
