Archie Clark Obituary
Archie Levant Clark
Born: January 1, 1950 | Died: October 24, 2025
Archie Levant Clark, II, age 75, of Spring City, TN was born January 1, 1950, in Palo Alto, California. He met his Savior in Knoxville, Tennessee on October 24, 2025, while holding his wife's hand. Archie liked to say he was one of the first babies born in the second half of the 20th Century. Another favorite story was how his mother, Wanda Clark, hoed in her garden to induce labor so he would be a New Years baby. Archie & family attended the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Palo Alto.
Archie had a long career as a truck owner operator. He specialized in extra heavy, extra legal permit loads. When an autoimmune disease ended that phase of his career, the state of CA retrained him. He went back to college & earned a BA in economics from San Jose State then got training as an airline dispatcher. Archie moved to Eagan MN to work for Mesaba Airlines, a subsidiary of Delta Airlines. Retiring from the airline & abandoning the great white north, Archie, Debbee and their cats & dogs moved to Spring City, TN. Archie's retirement job was as a school bus driver for Rhea County.
Archie was a private pilot, a fisherman, a photographer, a Jeep enthusiast & he loved all types of transportation. He & his wife, Debbee, studied the Civil War & toured battlefields. Archie helped her with her foster cats & was the chauffeur when transporting animals to their new homes. He attended classes at Roane State Community College where he had a passion for film photography.
Archie's joy, enthusiasm, passion, and positive attitude helped to create an exceptional learning environment for students and instructors alike and he was a treasured part of that community.
Archie will be sorely missed by family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Charles Thomas Steffens.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Debbee Knorre Clark of Spring City TN; his siblings John (Jack) Howard Steffens, Homer (Jim) James Steffens, Mary El Jan Steffens, Vandy Lee Anderman, William Ernest Clark and numerous nieces & nephews around the country. Cali, Archie's favorite cat, doesn't understand why her human isn't home to love on her.
Archie donated his body to Restore Life.
