Evelyn Hixson Obituary
Evelyn Monday Hixson passed away peacefully in Woodstock, Ga., surrounded by loved ones on Thursday, Nov. 2, 2022.
She grew up in Lupton City, Tenn., and later lived in Hixson, Tenn., and in 1999 moved to Dayton. She graduated from Baroness Erlanger Hospital School of Nursing in 1955. She worked as a pediatric nurse at TC Thomason Children's Hospital, Teppers Clinic, and later worked as a school nurse for the Hamilton County School System until she retired.
She lived 88 wonderful years and loved the Lord. She enjoyed quilting, sewing and growing beautiful flowers. She was married to George Hixson for 67 years. She was a member of Old Washington Baptist Church in Dayton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Edna Monday; and her sister, Virginia Monday.
She is survived by her husband, George of Dayton; and two daughters, Vivian of Dayton and Jody (Allen) of Woodstock, Ga.
Visitation will be held Saturday, Nov. 5, 2022, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Vanderwall Funeral Home in Dayton.
The funeral will be Sunday, Nov. 6, 2022, at 2 p.m. at funeral home with burial to follow at Hixson Cemetery on Old Hixson Pike in Hixson, Tenn.
