Wanda Sullivan Morrison, age 80, passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 16, 2025. Surely she heard "Well done my good and faithful servant," as she entered into eternity to ever abide with her Lord and Savior. All of heaven has rejoiced as Wanda was re-united with her loving husband and son and others who have gone before her. Oh what a reunion this must be!
Wanda was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years James Kenneth Morrison, her son James Kenneth Morrison Jr (Junior), and her parents Henry Clarence Sullivan and Mary Buel Foust Sullivan as well as many other family and friends.
She is survived by Daughters: Lisa M Doss of Dayton TN and Elizabeth (Michael) Baugh of Chattanooga TN, Grandchildren: Aleta Doss of Dayton TN, Andrea (Phil) Lawson of Fort Olgethorpe Ga, Kimberly Willoughby of Chattanooga TN and Michaela (Jose) Quintero of Ypsilanti Michigan, and Great-Grandchildren: James Gregory and Ella Townsend.
Wanda was a resident of the New Harmony community on Dayton Mountain. She was the first person in her immediate family to accept Christ as her Savior and to become a new creation in Him (transformed just like the butterflies she loved so much)!
After high school, Wanda married her love Kenneth who served in the Army, stationed in Fort Benning Ga. Kenneth and Wanda moved their young family back to the New Harmony community in 1974 to help assist her father and mother on the family farm. She was a founding member of Ekklesia Bible Tabernacle – The Lighthouse on Dayton Mountain where she served her Lord in various ways through the years.
Wanda founded Morrison's Tax & BBK Service in 1968 serving the community for 53 years before retiring due to health concerns. She helped many people throughout her career and counted them as friends.
Wanda saw potential in everyone and treated all with equality and grace. Despite all the challenges she had faced throughout her life, she persevered in hope, knowing that with Christ all things are possible. She raised her daughters to know the Lord, to work hard to be the hands and feet of Jesus, and instilled in them the assurance that they could succeed and overcome all obstacles. As such, Wanda was a great encourager, always supporting the grands in all their activities and lifting them up with a warm, loving presence. She was always willing to help when needed, giving with a happy heart and fully embodying the fruits of the spirit. Wanda leaves behind a kind of wealth that cannot be spent that we will be forever grateful for. She will forever reside in and inspire our hearts. We will love and miss her until we meet again.
A family burial was held at Rigsby Cemetery where she was laid to rest between her husband and son. A celebration of her life will be held on October 26, 2025 at 3:30 p.m. EST at Ekklesia Bible Tabernacle – The Lighthouse (4832 Dayton Mountain Hwy, Dayton TN 37321).
