Amelia "Amy" Casarez Dakins
Age 71, of Beeville, Texas and resided in Birchwood, WI, died Wednesday, May 18, 2022 due to complications from a stroke, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born to Rosendo and Ofelia (Garcia) Casarez on March 17, 1951 in Paducah, Texas. Amelia graduated from Beeville High School in Beeville, Texas and graduated from Dakota County Technical College with a degree in Computer Programming. Amelia worked as a flight data specialist for the Federal Aviation Administration. Amelia was married to David Dakins on July 26, 1974 in Biloxi, Mississippi.
She enjoyed bowling, dancing, traveling, and loved & spoiled her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years , David Dakins; 2 daughters, Sabrina Dakins (Russell Morrell) and Crystal (Joseph) Ramsay; a son, Ben Dakins; 7 grandchildren, Anthony, Amber, Skyler, Todjer, Quinton, Tayber and Rilley; 2 great grandchildren; her father, Rosendo Casarez; 4 sisters, Anita Martinez (Pres), Estrella Lee (TJ), Cecilia Ozuna (Carlos Sr.) and Diana Dunbar (George); many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ofelia Casarez.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at Appleyard's Home for Funerals in Rice Lake from 3-6PM with full military rites accorded by the Birchwood American Legion Post at 3PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to Wounded Warrior Project.
