David Phillips Obituary

In Loving Memory of David Lee Phillips May 31, 1941 – September 21, 2025

He enjoyed "windshield time" and had a lifelong love of aviation. He loved to fly and spend time at the airport. He proudly served in the United States Navy.

He shared a special bond with his beloved dog, Fred, who passed before him, and who was often seen riding in the back of his pickup truck to local taverns.

He also enjoyed a good debate and loved playing trivia. Known for his grin that could light up a room, his dry sense of humor, and the way he made lasting impacts in people's lives, he was a good man who will be deeply missed.

He was self-employed and installed pneumatic tube systems in hospitals throughout the United States.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Marion, nee Mather; former wife Marla Kaye; his grandson, Austin; his stepson, Rick Seeger; and his faithful dog, Fred.

He is survived by his children, Paul (Judy), Don, and Nickole; his stepchildren, Tammy, Yolanda, and Darrel Seeger; and his brothers, Neil and Richard.

David will be buried at the Veterans Cemetery in Spooner, Wisconsin, on Thursday at 2:00 PM. A celebration of life will be held at the Chetek Airport on Saturday, September 27, from 1:00 to 4:00 PM.

His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
