Emma Rude
October 18, 1936 - September 28, 2025
Emma Rude, age 88, of Gambrills Maryland, passed away on September 28th, 2025 at Autumn Lakes Health Care in Crofton, Maryland. She was born October 18th, 1936 to Albert and Lillian (Strand) Rabehl in
Rice Lake, Wisconsin.
On November 28th, 1959 she married John Rude of
Cameron, Wisconsin. They resided in Cameron until they decided to follow their 3 children to Maryland where she lived until her death.
She loved golfing, sewing, baking and making frequent trips to the casino with her husband. Emma and John enjoyed their twice a year vacations back to Rice Lake after they moved to Maryland. Her favorite activity was babysitting her grandchildren and watching them grow into adulthood. She loved babysitting children for whoever needed help and enjoyed teaching Sunday School.
She also enjoyed her time working at Sanna Dairies and Fritz Furniture in Cameron. Once she moved to Maryland, she helped out at the family businesses, Crofton Country Club and Uncle Nicky's restaurant. She greeted customers and waited on tables. She is well remembered for the homemade pies she
baked for the restaurant. Customers would come in just to get some of Emma's home baked pies. She always loved her pets and was known to have a cat or two spend the night under the covers with her.
Emma was preceded in death by her parents, husband: John on September 29th , 2010, sister: Ruth Rabehl and step daughter: Jeanne (Leonard) Hess.
She is survived by her brothers: George (Caroline) Rabehl, Walter Rabehl and Arnold (Linda) Rabehl, her
children: Bob (Kathy) Rude, Linda (William) Berkshire and Diane (Jerry) Von Seggern, her grandchildren: Kyle Berkshire, Jillian (Shane) (Berkshire) Koreny and Gretchen Von Seggern, step granddaughter: Kitzie (Herb) Winters, step great-grandchildren: Gracie and Madison Nelson and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 11th at Faith Lutheran Church in Cameron with Jane Snowden officiating and interment following at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Cameron. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Home in Cameron and also for the hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.

Alzheimer's Association. Arrangements are with Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Homes, Cameron & Dallas.
