Geno Bassette Obituary
Geno Bassette 69 passed away peacefully October 16th after a courageous 3 year battle with ALS in Missoula, MT
Geno graduated from Rice Lake High in 1974. After high school he headed west to work for the forest service. He was a fire fighter and smoke jumper for many years. He went on to earn a degree in cartography and continued to make maps for the forest service until his retirement after 30 years.
Geno ran many marathons and ultra marathons. He loved the outdoors, the mountains, long hikes with Pam and elk hunting with his buddies.
He will be missed by many. Positive, fun, generous and encouraging to all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife Pam. Four brothers, John (Chris), Paul (Sally), Pete (Gwen)and Mike(Deb). His favorite sister Mary Streuli (Dan). Many nieces and nephews that especially loved him.
