Helen Ainsworth Obituary
Helen (Lou) Ainsworth passed away on Sept. 20, 2016 at the age of 83 in Dunedin, Fla. surrounded by her children after a brief battle with lung cancer.
Helen was born on Sept. 20, 1933 in Boston, Mass. to George and Edith (Burke) Merrill. She is survived by her son Christopher and his wife Julie Murphy and by her daughter Julia Murphy.
Helen graduated from Mount Auburn Nursing School in Cambridge. Later in life, she got her college degree, graduating Summa Cum Laude, at Roger Williams College. She worked for thirty years at South County Hospital, first as a nurse in the emergency room and later becoming Director of Emergency Services.
Helen met and was married to the love of her life, Jim Ainsworth. Together, they lived in Narragansett and enjoyed dining out, taking cruises, gambling (Jai Alai and Foxwoods), and being snowbirds. She also loved reading, playing bridge and doing the NY Times Sunday Crossword puzzle. Helen relished a good laugh with family and friends. She will be sorely missed.
There will be a celebration of life on Saturday, Nov. 19 at 11 a.m. at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 99 Pierce Street, East Greenwich. A light luncheon will follow for family and friends

My heartfelt sympathies go out to the family and friends during this difficult time. I hope that the promise in 1 Thessalonians 4:14 can bring comfort. Knowing that there's a hope for the ones we have lost in death can be so reassuring.
