Benjamin C. Gnan, Jr., age 85, of 518 Hickory St., Ridgway, died Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at Penn Highlands Elk following a lengthy illness. He was born July 11, 1936, in St. Marys, son of the late Benjamin C. And Alice Keller Gnan, Sr. He was married to JoAnn S. Streich, she preceded him in death on June 1, 2014. He resided in Ridgway for most of his life and was Catholic by Faith. He was a member of the Ridgway American Legion, the Vets, the Eagles, and the Ridgway Servicemen's Burial Detail. He attended St. Marys Schools and had been employed by Elk County General Hospital for many years. He was a loving father and family member as well as a generous friend and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by 8 children: Mark (Sue) Gnan of Ridgway, Kevin Gnan of Ridgway, Steven Gnan of Ridgway, Jean (Steve) Rusciolelli of Ridgway, Kathi (Dan) Bufalini of Greensburg, PA, Lisa Gnan of Ridgway, Mary Jo (Ed) Hyatt of Ridgway, Ben Gnan of Ridgway; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; 2 sisters: Ruth Steis of Ridgway and Chris (Sam) Vallone of Clearfield, PA; 1 brother Paul (Joanne) Gnan of Johnsonburg; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.

Funeral Services for Benjamin C. Gnan, Jr. will be held at the Thompson Funeral Home on Saturday, September 25, 2021, at 11:00 AM. Officiating will be Fr. Justin P. Pino, Pastor of St. Leo Catholic Church. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery. Friends will be received at the Thompson Funeral Home from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at 11:00 AM.
