Mary Collins Obituary
She was born July 18, 1943, in Joliet, IL, daughter of the late Camden J. and Mary E. (Vail) Kent, Sr. Mary Ann was a graduate of Edison High School in East Gary, IN, Class of 1961 and had been a resident of the area since 1964.
On June 27, 1964, in East Gary, IN, Mary Ann married Michael J. Collins, Sr., who preceded her in death on June 8, 2020. They were blessed to share 55 years of marriage.
She is survived by two daughters: Laura Karsten of St. Marys and Diane Atchison (Terry) of Las Vegas, NV; two sons: Michael J. Collins, Jr. of Pittsburgh and Shawn P. Collins (Paula) of Kersey; nine grandchildren: Logan Collins, Holly Vail, Cassandra Karsten, Jack Karsten, Tiffany Sonnenberg, Emily Plummer, Eric Ott, Katie Neal, and Courtney Lazar; and 11 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters: Andrea Nestor of Gainesville, FL and Elizabeth Hatzitheodorou (Manolis) of Naples, FL; and by two brothers: Joseph Kent (Mary) of St. Louis, MO and Camden Kent (Ann) of Madison, AL.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mary Ann was preceded in death by two sisters: Patricia Merk and Ida Farlie; and by a brother, Andrew Kent, in infancy.
Mary Ann was a member of the St. Boniface Church. She was an avid sports shooter and was a member of the Ridgway Rifle Club for over 30 Years. Mary Ann found great pleasure in doing embroidery and won a number of awards for her work.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the St. Boniface Church on Thursday, March 28, 2024, at 11:00 AM, with the Rev. Kevin Holland, Pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery in Kersey.
Visitation will be held in the St. Boniface Church Gathering Space on Thursday morning, from 10:00 AM until the time of Mass.
Memorials, if desired, may be made to the St. Boniface Church, 355 Main Street, Kersey, PA 15846 or to the Alzheimer's Association, 1128 State Street, Suite 301, Erie, PA 16501-1920.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc.
