Richard E. Luzier

1927 - 2016

Richard E. Luzier, 89, of 107 Mill St., Ridgway (Daguscahonda), died Friday, Dec. 9, 2016 at Elk Haven Nursing Home.
He was born Sept. 9, 1927 in Girard Township, Clearfield County, son of the late Frank and Beatrice Williams Luzier. He was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Weedville High School. Richard was a retired employee of Quality Components, retiring in 1989 with over 30 years of service.
On Jan. 16, 1954 in Force, he married Anita T. Gavazzi, who survives. They were married over 62 years.
Richard was a member of the Weedville United Methodist Church and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served in World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of the St. Marys and Weedville American Legions. Richard was an avid hunter and enjoyed going to camp.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Cheryl Kotalac and her husband Bill of St. Marys and Debbie Luzier of Marietta, Ohio; a son, Richard F. Luzier and his wife Carol of St. Marys; three grandchildren, Chris (Kelly) Copeland, Melissa Luzier and Richie Luzier; one great-grandson, Copeland; and by a sister, Gloria Youngmark and her husband Teed of Caledonia.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Marjorie Wilson and Elnora Pasquinelli.
Funeral services for Richard E. Luzier will be held in the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Tuesday, Dec. 13 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Lola Turnbull officiating. Full military rites will be accorded by the St. Marys Servicemen's Burial Detail. Burial will follow in the St. Boniface Cemetery.
Visitation is at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Tuesday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
