Robert L. McClain

Robert L. McClain, 79, of Syracuse, NY, left this world suddenly on October 27, 2025, passing from the embrace of his devoted wife into the arms of his Savior. Born in 1946 in Ridgway, PA,  Bob was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force where he dedicated 21 years of honorable service to his country. After retiring from active duty, Bob continued to serve his community in the Kane, PA Lions Club, volunteer fire departments and in several roles' at churches in PA and NY. He most recently served as an Elder at New Hope Church. He was always guided by the same sense of duty and compassion that defined his military career. He had a love for the outdoors including hunting, fishing and golf. He is survived by his wife, Donna McClain; children, Lori McClain (William Connington), Steven McClain (Christine), and Nicole Black (Chris); brother, Kenneth McClain (Carolyn); grandchildren, Michael Kowalski, Joseph Kowalski and Nicholas Kowalski, Andrew McClain (Brittney), Lindsey Allen (Jeremy), Jenna McClain (Daniel Veuger) and Abby McClain. Bob was also blessed with several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and cousins. His family will forever cherish his unwavering love, wisdom, and strength. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at New Hope Church, 7587 State Fair Blvd, Baldwinsville, NY from 10:00 - 11:00 AM followed by a funeral service at 11:30 AM.  Burial with full military honors will be held at 2:00 PM, at the New York State Veterans Cemetery, Romulus, NY.  For those unable to attend, services will be live streamed at https://newhopebville.online.church.
