Ruth M. Duchi, 84, of 439 Marvin Street, died Wednesday morning, March 24, 2021 at her residence after her long fight with the complications brought on by COVID-19.
She was born on January 3, 1937 in Ridgway, a daughter to the late Walter H. and Hattie R. States Brunner. On August 18, 1961 in Wilcox, she married Jerd Duchi who preceded her in death on October 31, 2018. She has lived in Wilcox since 1970 and had formerly lived in Johnsonburg.
She was a 1954 graduate of Ridgway High School. Ruth was an avid member of the Gray Knight Drum and Bugle Corps. and loved to travel for sporting events and music competitions and she loved to go camping and play cards with her family.
She was an Air Force Vet serving as an Airman Second Class with the HQ Squadron, 865th Air Force Group from 1955 to 1956.
She retired from Metaldyne in St. Marys in 2008 after 14 years of service. She had also worked at the Dickinson Group Home for 3 years and at Stackpole in St. Marys.
Ruth is survived by her children; Rick Duchi and his wife Pauline of Ridgway, Jerd A. Duchi and his wife Cindy of Mt. Jewett, Vickie Duchi of Wilcox, Paul Duchi of Wilcox, Chris Duchi and companion Hope of Wilcox and Nicole, Mrs. Mike Beck of Cranberry Township, 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters; Shirley L. Miller of Golden, Colorado, Carol J., Mrs. Louis Jordan of Wilcox and Cathy L., Mrs. Michael Tanous of Iola, Texas and brothers; Walter L. Brunner of Ridgway, Ralph E. Brunner of St. Marys, John A. Brunner and his wife Linda of St. Marys. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to her parents and husband, Ruth is predeceased by a daughter Dawn Duchi Paul, sisters; Maryetta Brunner, Roberta Jean Byrum, Flora Sue Matheson, Donna Mae Brunner, Naomi R. Brunner and Catherine A. Allshouse and brothers William H, Donald R. and Albert L. Brunner.
A private funeral service for Ruth M. Duchi will be conducted at the Anthony F. Ferragine Funeral Home and Cremation Services Chapel on Saturday March 27, 2021 with Pastor David Pflieger, Chaplain of the Community Nurses Hospice as celebrant. Visitation will be private. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
