Caleb Jackson Reed

Caleb Jackson Reed was born on March 26, 2005. He passed unexpectedly at the tender age of 20 on Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2025.

Caleb grew up here in Mayo surrounded by a huge family and many friends. Caleb grew up having a deep love for nature. Many times, he could be found swimming in the local springs or fishing at the river with his friends, his girlfriend, Paige Shiver, and his cousin, Tyler Flowers. Caleb could also be found under the hood, repairing a truck covered in grease. He has been described by anyone who has ever spent time with the polite young man as a brother with a good heart and a willingness to lend a helping hand.

He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Joyce Starling, with whom he had a special relationship. He is survived and missed by his parents, Corey and Amanda Reed. Other family members who feel the loss include maternal grandfather (Jimmy Starling), paternal grandfather (Charles Reed), maternal aunts and uncles (Dale and Robert Clark, Tammy and Larry Flowers, and Frankie and Jerrette Linton), many cousins and siblings (Jason, Cindy and Destiny).

The family will receive friends on Monday, Nov. 24, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Joe P. Burns Funeral Home of Mayo, where family and friends can gather and share memories of Caleb. A graveside service will be held the following morning, Tuesday, Nov. 25, at 10 a.m., at the Midway Baptist Church cemetery in Mayo, with Bro. Darryl Fletcher officiating.
