Harold Carpenter Obituary
Born March 29, 1935, in St. Petersburg, Fla., to Harold and Helen Carpenter. Jake served four years with the U.S. Army and then was employed with the Florida Game and Fresh Water Fish Commission, retiring after 30 years of service as a chemist.
Jake is survived by his wife of 32 years, Cecilia Carpenter; sons, Douglas Carpenter, William Carpenter and Michael Patterson Jr.; daughters, Paige Comer, Michelle Wooten and Dawn Howard; eight grandchildren, Lauren, McKenzie, Chloe, Tyler, Ryan, Michael III, Sabrina and Summer; sister, Gue Wooten; nephew, Tad Wooten; and one neice, Rebecca Wooten.
A celebration of Jake's life will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9, at Euchee Valley Presbyterian Church, 5551 County Highway 183 South, DeFuniak Springs, FL 32435, with Pastor John Erthein officiating. A time of visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

I'm saddened to hear about Jake's passing. As his downstream neighbor on the Rainbow River, I'll miss chatting with him over the fence. I always looked forward to seeing him when we were there.Jake was a fine gentleman and I'll miss him.
