John Monroe Obituary

Dr. John M. Munroe, age 90, of Dunnellon, Florida, passed away on Nov 4, 2021. John was born in Miami, Florida, on Feb 2, 1931.
He graduated from the University of Miami and continued on to receive a Ph.D. in Music from UM.
John was married to Barbara Jones on Dec 19, 1953. They were married for 67 years.
John worked as an educator for the school district of Palm Beach County for 39 years. He enjoyed being a choir director for Lakeside Presbyterian Church in West Palm Beach and First Methodist Church in Dunnellon.
John is survived by his wife, Barbara J. Munroe, his children Mary M.
Ussery, Kathleen M. Read, and John R. Munroe; his grandchildren Andrea R. Christiansen, Valerie R. Westrick, Robbie P. Munroe, Jared C. Ussery and Katie E. Hacker.
John is preceded in death by his daughter Bonnie M. Hacker.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the University of Miami Bands, Frost School of Music, 201 Rehearsal Center, 5501 San Amaro Dr, Coral Gables, FL 33124.
