Charles Kelly Obituary

Charles Wade "Chuck" Kelly Jr., 67, of Rockwood, passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2013, in Roane Medical, Harriman.
He was born April 12, 1946, in Harriman. He was a member of Clymersville Baptist Church in Rockwood, where he served as a Sunday school teacher. He graduated from Oakdale High School and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in education from Carson-Newman College. He was a former teacher at Rockwood Junior High School and for the Morgan County School System and was former principal of Burrville Elementary School in Morgan County. He was a retired insurance agent with Business Men's Assurance (BMA) with several years of service and was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son and brother. He was preceded in death his mother, Mary Lenice Evans Kelley; brother, Claude Kelley; and sisters, Lynn Huskins and Terry Kelly.
Survivors include his wife, Mary L. Kelly, Rockwood; children, Iesha Meiste and husband Billy, Rockwood, Selena Wiley, Rockwood, and Wade Kelly, Palm Bay, Fla.; grandchildren, Chase Meiste, Zackary Wiley, Kaileigh Wiley and Teana Wiley; father, the Rev. Charles W. Kelley Sr., Rockwood; sisters, Jeannie Burris and husband John, Chillicothe, Ohio, and Sharon Barker and husband Larry, Spring, Texas; brother, the Rev. Greg Kelly and wife Julie, Maryville; and brother-in-law, Lonnie Huskins, Harriman.
The family received friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, June 14, in Evans Mortuary, Rockwood. Funeral services followed at 7 p.m. Friday, June 14, from the chapel of Evans Mortuary, with the Rev. Chad Morrison officiating. Graveside services and burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 15, at Harriman City Cemetery, Harriman. Memorial contributions may be made to Clymersville Baptist Church, P.O. Box 194, Rockwood, TN 37854. An online register is available at www.evansmortuary.biz.

I fondly remember Charles and his family in Oakdale. His sister Lynn and I were the same age and Preacher Kelly baptized me.
