David Jolly Obituary

David Jolly, 58, of Rockwood, passed away Saturday, June 30, 2012, at home in Jolly Holler surrounded by his family and close friends.
He was a member of Rockwood First Presbyterian Church. He was co-owner of Cranfill/Jolly Construction and owner of D&E Construction. He enjoyed hunting with his friends, spending time on the lake, working in his garden attending University of Tennessee football games and was a huge fan of Coach Johnny Majors. He was an avid supporter of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and Ducks Unlimited.
He was born in Detroit and raised in Tennessee by his beloved grandparents, Harry and Etta Stricklan, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his parents, John and Nina Jolly; a brother, John Jolly Jr.; his grandparents, Claude and Mable Jolly; and dear friends, Bob Cole and Dexter Cranfill.
He was a loving father and grandfather, and a friend to everyone he met.
Survivors include his loving wife of 30 years, Elizabeth W. Jolly, Rockwood; a son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Reneé Jolly, Rockwood; two daughters, Elena Jolly and Nina Jolly, Rockwood; the light of his life, two granddaughters, Isabella Jolly and Scarlet Wilkerson; his faithful friend and companion, Hambone; a sister, Jeri Reed, Soddy-Daisy; three brothers, Gerald Wayne Jolly and wife Irene, Shelby Township, Mich., Kendall Jolly and wife Lisa, Rockwood, and Matthew Jolly and wife Wendy, O'Fallon, Mo.; a sister, Karen Keener and husband Dewayne, Dayton; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Mike Cox, Dick Cole, Elroy Boles, Brillo Miller, Kenny Cole, Lee Fisher and Charlie Dothard; and his beloved friends of the Jolly Holler Hunting Club.
A memorial service will be at 8 p.m. Monday, July 9, in Rockwood First Presbyterian Church, with Pastor Charles Snodgrass officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday in the church. Evans Mortuary, Rockwood, is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at www.stjude.org; or Rockwood First Presbyterian Church.

I was saddened to read of my cousins' passing and pray that God will be with the family in this hard time. I remember him as being funny and outgoing tho he was older then I. God bless the family
