Gerald T. Williams

Gerald Thomas Williams, age 73, of Center Star, passed away Wednesday Jan. 1, 2014.

Visitation will be today, 11-1:30 p.m. at Spry-Williams Funeral Home, Florence. The graveside service will follow at 2 at Center Star Cemetery with Brother Sonny Owens officiating.

Pallbearers will be Zack Williams, Skylar Williams, Andrew Williams, Connor Strange, Dominick Goodwin and Tim Cameron.

Gerald was a member of the former Center Star Cumberland Presbyterian Church where he served as a deacon. He retired from Champion International Paper Company after 30 years of service.

He was preceded in death by a son, Timmy Williams; and his parents, Raymond and Vera Williams.

Survivors include

wife of 55 years, Gertrude Stutts Williams

sons, Joey Williams (Laura) and Barry Williams (Kim);

grandchildren, Zack Williams,

Skylar Williams and wife, Brooke,

Ashlan Williams and fiance, Connor Strange,

Andrew Williams, Ally Williams,

and Gracie Williams;

stepgreat-grandson, Aiden Jaynes;

sisters, Linda Butler and Betty Kelly;

and brothers, Ray, Jack, and Larry Williams.

My heart is broken. Gerald was my neighbor for my entire childhood. I have such fond memories. So many summers spent with the Gerald swimming in his pool. Years of him trying to teach me to dive. He never gave up on me. I not even a single time saw this man without a smile on his face. Gerald's way of laugh was so catching. He truly was the kindest man you could meet. He loved his family and so loved to Brag on all they accomplished. I can hear him as if he is in this room with me, talking about taking Gertrude to Gatlinburg. Heaven received a beautiful angel. I can smile as tears run down my cheek. I am truly sorry that his family's hearts are heavy. I love you all, Tamara (Tami) (Faust) Jaroszewski.
